Following her role as producer of puppies now grown and successfully earning titles in Agility, Obedience, Rally Obedience, Therapy Dog work as well as establishing their role as beloved companions. Moët is quite active in her own agility career, having earned two titles back to back. She and Barbara have developed a superb connection that has ramped up their performances and ability to earn qualifying scores. At the age of 12 Moët achieved her Master Agility Title in Standard and will now retire to continue her part time job as Therapy Dog Extraordinaire in Barbara’s mental health counseling office.

Fourteen years is a long time to live, be, and play with a beloved Golden. Her litter was bred on New Year’s Eve, thus her name. Moët was everything a Golden should be – beautiful, intelligent, biddable, loving, versatile, loyal.
Her connection to me was exquisite, we were each other’s constant companion. It was easy to smile, laugh, and feel loved and supported in her presence. I can identify my own growth over those fourteen years that was inspired by Moët as we challenged each other to venture into new experiences, reach higher with our best efforts, all in the name sake of fun and enjoying the delicious pleasure of our mutual company. She was my first Golden to earn titles in AKC Master Agility, Rally Advanced,Tricks Advanced, and was one Q short of Master Agility Jumpers. She retired from Agility at age 12. Keeping up with her prompted me to stretch both physically and emotionally. I learned how to be comfortable in my own skin, that I was plenty good enough and how to express my own vibrance as we both lived our lives to the fullest. My gratitude for the love and life we shared is eternal, and it is that singular thought that sustains me now as I navigate the abyss of grievous loss.
As therapy dog extraordinaire Moët worked in my psychotherapy office offering her love, comfort and attention, one of the many gifts she gave whole heartedly and frequently to all my mental health patients over her lifetime. She was a pack mate to grandson Calai whom she helped to raise ( his first words were all the names of the Goldens whom he could identify correctly); Momma to three lovely litters; fellow traveler; and last but not least our beloved family member.
Rest easy, sweet girl. It was my honor to hold you for your first and last breaths, and every moment in between. Thank you to everyone who loved her.
